Our partner CEA participated at the 4th Mediterranean Symposium Electrochemistry for Environment and Energy, hold in Orvieto (Italy) last 15^th-17^th September. The International event, organized as joint meeting with the annual congress of the Division of Electrochemistry of the Italian Chemical Society (GEI2022), was the occasion to show an environmental-friendly pathway for the recovery of Platinum from PEM fuel cell to the industrial electrochemistry audience.

Marion Chevallier presented its research and the innovative electrochemical process developed by CEA, LITEN: the recovery of Platinum from the fuel cell’s catalyst is possible using a double treatment of electroleaching and electrodeposition, where the absence of organic solvents, acids nor the emission of toxic gases allow to finalise the recovery of material in one single process.
